It all started with a meeting of 11 past Interactors gathered by Pudu Rotarian, Past President V G Chandran in September 1973.An interim Board of Directors was elected on the following meeting and healing to a call for action by Rotarians, a successful fellowship and dance event was held.
The Rotaract Club of Pudu received her charter from Rotary International on 2nd March 1974 and Yeow Ewe Chuan was elected as the Charter President. The first installation ceremony was held in the Wesley Church Hall, Kuala Lumpur and the club headed it off with 28 members.
In the early days, meetings were held at the canteen of Sekolah Menengah Jalan Cheras and members' houses before being shifted to the AIA's conference room. During that period, the club's activities were confined to finding out more about the working of Rotaract and its relationship with Rotary, helped by Rotaractors from other clubs, Pudu Rotarians and a large dose of enthusiasm.The first community service project was to clean and organise a tea party for the inmates of Cheras Old Folks Home.
